Life screams by so fast, doesn't it??

Our blog is all about connecting the dots of daily life....

And helping our long distance family stay connected to us.

I'm not that good at baby books so decided this would be a good place to leave a polka dotted trail of Sy's childhood...

So that 20 years from now, we can look back and see what was going on in the daily life of our little family.

A bread crumb trail so to speak!

You are welcome to drop in anytime and see what we are up to.

An "Unplugged" Monday

We woke up to a very unplugged Monday last week....an ice storm took out power for lots of lots of Michiganders, including us!

It was so incredibly NICE and COMFORTABLE today, to wake up to all the luxuries we are so unaware of and not always so thankful for.

Today...I'm THANKFUL for POWER and all that comes with it. Namely, HEAT and sanity!!

Last Monday was spent huddled by the fire...we brought in trains and blankets and that's pretty much where we stayed.

Except for Daddio....chopping wood in the backyard and running around town looking for alternate ways to heat the house!

Thankfully, we had power just before bedtime. What relief that brought...and what gratitude for the cushy life we have with power.

Last Monday brought me to my knees praying for friends I know across the globe, that do not have the same luxuries that I take for granted most of the time, friends in Jamaica, Haiti and Tanzania come to mind. Last Monday was a good smack upside the head that I needed, even though I was a big baby about it at the time. I won't go into those details!

Yes, thank you Lord for America and all our cushy ways. Clean water, hot showers, cooking stoves and ovens, safe homes with doors that lock, clean bedding - lizard free, paved roads, windows that close, schools, jobs and hospitals sterile and compassionate and most important, Freedom to Worship God.

Every now and then a gentle reminder knudges us to pause and give thanks to the Lord for He is Good All the Time.
