Sy is in the full swing of things....he knows his birthday is coming and is in the party planning mode!
The first few times I told him that his birthday was coming....he went to the front window
and looked out saying "Birthday!? Where are you!?"
When I asked him what he wants for his birthday....he replied "Cake!"
Then my response "Anything else?"
Sylas: "Ummm....Ummmm.Candles!"
I'm thinking sweet....no presents needed this year!
But then it ocurred to me....Grammy D's birthday party.
He was so cake obsessed at her party....couldn't WAIT to get a mouthful of chocolate ooey gooey cake with frosting on top. He was a patient fellow to a certain degree...when Grammy D began the cake cutting, he was swiftly by her side, chair pulled up to the counter so he could be as close as it gets, with a plate in hand....sorry Grammy D, you should have gotten the first piece, but somehow "Sly Sy" snuck that one right away. The intensity on his face in the last photo tells it all.

On his first birthday, he wasn't so sure about cake...but he certainly has a hankering for it now!
So hard to grasp that our little guy is going to be 3 YEARS OLD!
Some days I feel like it is all slipping away so quickly, I'm savoring the fact that he still fits in my lap all snuggley and that I can still craddle his little body and carry him up the stairs all by myself if he falls asleep....I know there will be a day when I cannot. I just hope that day doesn't come too fast!

ENJOY, SAVOR, CHERISH, SNUGGLE, TICKLE, LOVE, LAUGH AND ALL THAT GOOD STUFF, cause time does fly by and sometimes it takes those little ones far, far away when they are all grown up.
