We worked out a deal with Santa this year to have Christmas early since we won't be home on Christmas eve for him to come sliding down our chimney...so this past Saturday was "Christmas Eve" at our house. Sylas rolled up his sleeves and went to work baking cookies for Santa.
First we picked out the cookie shapes we wanted...just so happened that we even had a train shape in the mix. (Thank you Grandma Walters for our 101 cookie cutters kit!)
Then rolling out the dough and making shapes. Sylas made a careful selection from the cookie cutter pile for each cookie...I was actually surprised that we didn't end up with all trains. He made quite a variety!
And then since Sylas loves his "SPRINKLES" we thought Santa might really like them too.
Each little sprinkle was placed with a little hand full chubby little fingers.... hard at work.
He was so careful with his bowl of sprinkles, no spills, no big messes. This was serious business making cookies for Santa!
I personally love making sugar cookies...but this was the MOST fun I've ever had making them...with my little helper right by my side start to finish. He didn't miss a beat.
These are the PRETTIEST cookies I've ever seen. Made with love!!
As soon as the cookies were put on the cooling platter....he gave a BIG smile and INHALE! Ummm, the smell of fresh baked cookies! He sniffed each one, just to make sure. It was too funny...oh, the details of cooking making!
And then, step back and admire a job well done. He was pretty proud of his cookies.
He would say "Sy...make cookies!"
Yes, Sylas you did a great job making cookies! Oops, the only mistake you made was going and telling Daddio the cookies were ready....once Daddio and Sylas started diving in and cookie munching...they didn't last long! Sorry Santa, there were only a few left for you....but we hope you understand...cookies just don't last that long at Sy's house!

Love was the unseen ingredient in these cookies. You can tell by those precious little hands placing those sprinkles so carefully in the right place. Yum, Yum... what a lucky Daddy to get to sample those cookies ahead of Santa.
