Thankful Thursday
I was reading a random blog a few weeks ago about how God has everyday gifts to share with us each day if we just open our eyes and hearts to see them. What a great way to go through life....watching for those little gifts throughout the day, to take the time to unwrap them and enjoy them. Like a spontaneous kiss from your child, or feeling warm and cozy in your bed at night as you go to sleep. Those are gifts, and it's worth taking time to really feel them, soak it in, and enjoy...and of course be THANKFUL! So instead of racing through in survival mode and just being thankful to make it to bedtime, I'm working on taking those moments to unwrap the gifts of the everyday....
Here is what I unwrapped today, a gift that made my heart swell with pride at my little "count dracula". We were walking up the steps and we usually count the steps as we go. We count 1,2,3 and then go back to 1 again and then 1, 2,3. I figured that just counting to 3 would be a sufficient start. Sometimes Sy counts with me, and sometimes not. Today we started counting and after we reached "3" I was about to say "1" on the next step...Sylas shouts 4! And then the next step, 5! I'm cannot believe my ears! I'm sure I had a huge smile on my face, but didn't say a word, just wanted to see where he goes with it. He counts all the way to the top and gets to 10. It was a perfect count to 10...and a priceless gift, unwrapped.
Great job, my little count dracula, you amaze me each and every day. love-momma
