FingerPrints!!!
On Friday, April 23rd we went to GR for our fingerprints appointment...in a nutshell, our fingerprints are taken and reviewed by the U.S. government to make sure we have a shiny clean record! This is one of the big steps to have behind us in order to finish our adoption application for Baby Deb II. MeMe and PaPa were in town so they stayed with Sylas while Seth and I went for our early morning appointment. As we walked in the building and saw the same familiar faces that we saw a few years ago when we went through this process for Sy...a wave of emotion came over me that I didn't expect. We filled out the boring paperwork attached to a clipboard and then took a number to wait our turn. Think of a hospital setting...very sterile feeling with floresent lights and aqua blue walls. As the lady was scanning my prints into the computer and I waited for her report...I looked across the room and saw my hubby waiting in his hard back chair as well. I fought back tears as this seemed like an odd place to get emotional...but I guess it just brought back the memories of waiting for our sweet Sylas and now thinking of our little Baby Deb nestled in their birth mother's womb. I'm more aware of what this step really means now that we've done this before. A fingerprint appointment may seem like a boring thing, but in reality it's big time for us...as we are preparing for Baby Deb's arrival with things like fingerprint appointments, our little baby is growing and developing and preparing to meet the world in a few months with unique fingerprints all his/her own! We are looking forward to meeting you Baby Deb and are praying for you and your birth family. We count all your needs met and trust God to provide safety and good health for you in these last few months before you meet the world!
