Life screams by so fast, doesn't it??

Our blog is all about connecting the dots of daily life....

And helping our long distance family stay connected to us.

I'm not that good at baby books so decided this would be a good place to leave a polka dotted trail of Sy's childhood...

So that 20 years from now, we can look back and see what was going on in the daily life of our little family.

A bread crumb trail so to speak!

You are welcome to drop in anytime and see what we are up to.

A Christmas Parade + Trains = Perfection

We hit the ultimate jackpot this past weekend in a little town nearby...An annual Christmas parade plus an open house at the local historical village, with trains, trains and more trains!

Sylas was beside himself with excitement. We told him we were going to the parade to see Santa and big fire trucks. All the way there, he would say (loudly)"Mom!"   then quieter...."Firetrucks."

Thankfully there were firetrucks in the parade as we had assumed.

We had lots of candy thrown at us. Sy was not quite sure what to think of candy being thrown, it was pretty funny watching him process the concept. Soon he was intently watching the parade with fists full of candy.

As soon as the parade was over, he started telling us "small choo choos! small choo choos!"
I had prepped him a little about the mini trainsets we'd see at the historical village and he was all in and ready to go.

I'll post the train segment tomorrow. Certainly the train depot/historical village trumped the Christmas parade in Sy's world. He is still talking about it.

Admittedly, it was a test of patience and endurance getting everyone bundled and prepared to be out in the cold...and to get there on time so as not to miss the entire parade...and why or why are snow boots so difficult to put on?? We admited defeat on the snow boots and decided they must just be too small. Thankfully, it was worth the shuffle to see this smile.

Love the smile and the capture of the handful of candy. Treasures for years to come.
