Life screams by so fast, doesn't it??

Our blog is all about connecting the dots of daily life....

And helping our long distance family stay connected to us.

I'm not that good at baby books so decided this would be a good place to leave a polka dotted trail of Sy's childhood...

So that 20 years from now, we can look back and see what was going on in the daily life of our little family.

A bread crumb trail so to speak!

You are welcome to drop in anytime and see what we are up to.

Christmas Parade + Trains Part II

Sylas was bouncing to get out of the car as soon as we arrived at the historical village...as this little red caboose and freight car were right in front of us as we parked the car. Part of the museum was inside these two trains, which was alot of fun. We let Sylas take the lead...and we went back and forth between the two cars...back and forth. He really didn't care that it was 30 something degrees outside. Excitement overrides the pain of cold weather I guess!

Then we went on a hunt to find the "small trains" and in hopes of a heated building. As soon was we opened the door to the small trains exhibit....we were greeted with Thomas the train characters on a large scale. Sylas could hardly believe his eyes. We saw James pulling a Christmas train and Thomas pullling the coaches. We spent alot of time at that table watching these characters go around and around....then we heard a loud train whistle....Sy was at full attention. It was a real train passing through the old village. He scrambled outside to get a look.

Its amazing how still and silent he gets when he's taking in a real train. He studies intently as they whistle by. Our son, the trainiac!

Then back to the little red caboose....it was decked out with a sleeping cot, a dinning table, and little stove. I think Sylas would have moved in if we had let him. He would sit at the table and "pretend" with the dishes, a coffee pot and paperwork that appeared to be old train logs. Then we climbed up high to the little windows up top. He thought that was pretty serious stuff. We really weren't sure how to talk him out of the little caboose...but thankfully it was lunchtime and offering up something like "fries and chicken nuggets" drew him away from the caboose and into the car!

What a fun Saturday morning....and what a fun Christmas this is already shaping up to be. It's so much more fun to see if through the eyes of a child.

What a fun packed day. I think a Thomas action train around the Christmas tree is in order for next year.
