Life screams by so fast, doesn't it??

Our blog is all about connecting the dots of daily life....

And helping our long distance family stay connected to us.

I'm not that good at baby books so decided this would be a good place to leave a polka dotted trail of Sy's childhood...

So that 20 years from now, we can look back and see what was going on in the daily life of our little family.

A bread crumb trail so to speak!

You are welcome to drop in anytime and see what we are up to.

Thankful Thursday:Cousins

"A cousin is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost."
Author: Marion C. Garretty

Sylas and his cousin Jack have been able to spend some good playtime together this past week here in PK...and that got me to thinking. What a blessing it is to have cousins to laugh with, play with, imagine and dream with!
I was watching Sy and Jack play trains the other night and Jack was the ring leader of the play....organizing the trains, setting up the track, talking and spinning all around the room. Sylas was enjoying every minute of it. Jack would say something or do something and Sy's face would light up.

This was the moment that filled my heart with JOY and NOSTALGIA:

Jack was pretending to fly a plane up in the air, acting funny....Sylas got up really close to Jack, listening to him intently, he looked up to his older cousin with such happy eyes and a mouth in a smile of joy...laughing out loud....watching for what Jack would do next. I wish I had captured the moment on camera...but it is etched clearly in my memory. It was such a sweet moment and reminded me of the relationship that I share with MY cousin...Jack's Mom.

She was always the ring leader of our playdates and I always looked up to her and wanted to be snuggled up next to her...doing whatever she was doing. We had an amazing childhood together playing dolls, dressup, church, school...the list goes on. Words can't describe how much I admired her in our childhood and still do today. Sy and Jack's relationship mirrors our childhood relationship as cousins...something I never expected to see...but here it is right in front of me, and it just fills my heart with joy. Sylas is in for such a treat to have an older cousin to look up to and to tell anything to. Sylas and Jack, I can tell you, it only gets better with time! Cherish your special bond as cousins, it is a priceless gift to unwrap a little each time you see each other.

A close family is a rare commodity and I think our "Wilkerson Family" falls into that catagory. Love Mom
