Life screams by so fast, doesn't it??

Our blog is all about connecting the dots of daily life....

And helping our long distance family stay connected to us.

I'm not that good at baby books so decided this would be a good place to leave a polka dotted trail of Sy's childhood...

So that 20 years from now, we can look back and see what was going on in the daily life of our little family.

A bread crumb trail so to speak!

You are welcome to drop in anytime and see what we are up to.

ABCs, 123s and the like....

My little book worm....reading about ELMO while sitting in his ELMO chair...couldn't be any more ironic, right? One of his favorite books of all times is the Sesame Street book he is reading in this photo. It's a history book about the past 40 years of Sesame Street and not really 2 year old reading material, but he loves looking at the pictures and pointing out who he recognizes. Since I'm using this blog to supplement Sy's baby book (cause I'm just not very disciplined about getting out the book and recording things down)....I wanted to blog about what our little guy knows about his ABCs, 123s, and so on. His favorites are letters by far, but he is starting to show interest in colors and shapes too. We just about have all of the alphabet mastered and he is starting to sing his ABCs. He is really getting the melody of the song down and sometimes we can tell what letters he is singing. It is so incredibly cute. His first shape that he learned was Octagon, then Oval. Maybe an "O" trend? He also knows Circle, Square, Triangle, Star, Pentagon and sometimes Rectangle. Colors will be the last to come, although today he recognized and said his first color while doing water colors! PURPLE! We were painting Tuck the Turtle from the Wonder Pets show and he chose "PURPLE!" so enthusiastically and said the word. Another new game he likes to play is find the object. He likes to look at a picture book or one of his Sesame Street place mats and play "find the object." So we'll name an object on the page and then he searches and searches until he sees it and then a big smile comes across his face...then his little pointing finger pokes out and he points to it with pride. So much fun to watch and help him learn. He is so quick to catch on and doesn't forget it. Very proud of you and all that you are learning, my little book worm!
